A simply fantastic place. One of the loveliest cafes I've ever been to- it takes you back in time in around 1920's, at the innocence era. Amazing decoration, lovely people and delicious cakes to treat yourself. Perfect for a day in rainy London, is the coziest place in East London.
By far, my favourite coffee shop in whole London and one of the best places to chill out I've ever been to. Don't go there during Summer, it's dark kinda claustophobic and mysterious. During cold winter days, that's the best place to be. Live music in selected days is always a plus as it's not thunderously loud as usual in such cases.
Run by Olly & Jess, a couple of laid-back, friendly boaters living on the London canal system, the Vintage Emporium Cafe is a seriously cool, yet amazingly welcoming cafe venue near London's Brick Lane. It features a tiny stage area, vintage decor and simple, good quality food. I especially recommend the last friday of each month when there is an evening open stage performance featuring poetry, music and other performances by an eclectic mix of artistes. If you want that 'Boston Cheers' feeling but with an London flavour this is the place to make your own. And if that's not enough, downstairs features a magical treasure chest of vintage ladieswear sourced from around Europe. Go there!
